Points and Rules

All contestants will need to donate $15 dollars to the pot to be involved. Send it to Diana this time.



Healthy and correctly proportioned Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner- 1 pt. for each meal.

(this means one serving only, and well balanced. Use your best judgement)



Two Healthy Snacks a Day- 1 pt.

(Try to avoid processed foods. Stick with fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and dairy products. )



1 Multi Vitamin - 1pt.

( This is very important as the foods we eat this day and age just don't have the sufficient amount of Vit. and minerals we need for daily intake. If you don't take a multi. now you will see a significant difference in the way you feel.)



Exercise at least 30 min. a day - 2 pts.

(This is an additional point because we know it can be the hardest. It probably gives you the best results as far as feeling "healthy")



Drink 2 ltrs. Of Water or 67 oz. - 1 pt.

( Any liquids that you take count toward your water intake. For example: a protein shake, or 100% juice, or even milk.)



No Sugar- 2 pts.

Essentially this means NO SWEETS! Cookies, candy, soda, etc.

you can have sugar if it is in small amounts that already contain sugar like bread, and lightly sweetened cereal. Don't blatantly put it on your things that is against the rules. Use honey instead. I've found that it actually tastes better. We are giving it 2 pts. So it will be worth not spoiling your day over just 1 pt.



No Caffeine- 1 pt.

no soda, coffee, energy drinks. It's just bad for you and addictive.

No food 2 hrs. before Bed- 1pt.
At the end of the day all of your body's systems need a break from performing their functions. Like your digestive system. Your metabolism also slows down at night making it harder for your body to burn fat.


Remember... this isn't about weight loss. Although you might see results in that area. It's all about living a better life style and feeling "Healthy"

Ready, Set, Go!

Hello everyone! We're ready to start with the Healthy Challenge 2011. Our starting date will be February 1st and will run until March 1st. So far the contestants are as follows: Forrest, Glenda, Aaron, Danny, Kaycee, Christy, Kamilla, Nick, Diana, & Alena. If there is anyone else interested please post a comment. There will be a $15.00 entrance fee, if this is too much, post a comment as well. We will be having a 1st and 2nd place award. Who's In?

So... The new year is approaching. And I think it's time for another Healthy Challenge Go round!


Anyone in?


I think that a great start date would be Jan. 2nd. We will go for 4 or 6 weeks. I kind of felt like 4 weeks was too short of time to really see results. What do you think? Give me your ideas, feedback, and let me know if your up for the challenge. This time we will have a Grand Prize winner who will take all the cash and a 2nd and 3rd place winner so we don't all feel like giving up when we get off to a slow start.

Well, I have to say that from the very begining I KNEW lisa would win. She's really good at this kind of stuff.

I'll send you a check right away lisa. Good Job.

So... Round three? Not for a month. We need time to re-vamp everything and get more people on board again. We are thinking of adding a 2nd and 3rd place. Weather it be an actual prize or part of the money pot. That way if you are behind and someone like Lisa is playing you don't just give up completely because you know you have no chance. (that was me this time) Keep checking the blog for updates on new rules and a start date.

yikes.

So... I have FAILED miserably. To say the least. Nick and I just got back from Bear Lake last night and let me tell you.... we ate and ate and ate while we where there. I have failed to weigh myself because I'm just plain scared. Nick and I probably got only in the 40's this week. So dissapointing.

Well, I am sad to say that this whole round I never did get the full points. Oh well, it's been good for me anyway. Point total this week 68. Good job everyone. It's been fun.
